What is document delivery?
Document Delivery is a service available to only current Winthrop staff and students. If you need a book or journal article not held by the library, Document Delivery can get it for you from another supplier. You must be in good standing with Winthrop - we must have all of your contact information, all overdue materials must be returned, and all owed fines paid - to use the service. There is otherwise no charge.
Periodical articles are usually supplied in photocopy or electronic format. It is not usually possible to borrow entire issues or volumes of periodicals. Please always check the Library Catalog before requesting anything from Document Delivery.
How long does it take?
Most articles are received within 1-3 business days; however, some may take longer depending on where we have to go to get the article.
Any requests made after 5pm, Monday-Thursday will be serviced the next business day. Requests made after 5pm on Fridays or on the weekend will be processed the following Monday.
But this is an emergency!?
Only in cases of clinical emergencies are we able to expedite document delivery requests. If this is a clinical emergency, please call Dina Mauro at (516) 663-2802 to flag your request.
